General Description ^
History
Recognised by the Rectorate on 27 June 1987 with law no 3389. Postgraduate education is provided in the fields of banking, insurance and capital markets and stock exchange. The PhD degree is only given in Banking.

Specific Admission Requirements
Documents required for application 1. Application form 2.Undergraduate diploma 3. Copy of ALES or GRE Score Card 4. Transcript 5. Copy of national identification card and Turkish Republic Identification Number 6. 2 photos 7. Copy of certificate of equivalency given by the Institute of Higher Education required for foreign students. 8. For male students, a letter showing that they have completed their military service. 9. For foreign students the following documents are also required. a) Copy of certificate of equivalency given by the Institute of Higher Education certified by notary public required for foreign students b) Copy of document obtained from TOMER certified by notary public. c) Copy of LES Score Document certified by notary public for students coming from Turkish Republics and Turkish and Relative Communities living in Asia and the Balkans. d) Copy of passport certified by notary public. e) Copy of student visa received from foreign agencies certified by notary public. (Student visa is not required provided foreign students who prefer postgraduate education, continue their studies within a year) f) Copy of health board report certified by notary public showing the convenience of their health status for education. The original documents or their certified copies by notary public should be submitted in the final enrolment.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
For the students, being willing to make a lateral transfer to our institutue, from the higher education instititutions in Turkey and foreign countries, “In higher education instititutions-Transfer between the programs at the level of Postgraduate&Doctorate, Double Major, Minor with interinstitutional Credit Transfer regarding the Regulations’ Fundamentals” provisions are applied.

Profile of The Programme
Graduates work as middle and top level chief executives, dealer or broker s at portfolio management companies, investment companies , banks or regulatory institutions including IMKB, SPK and BDDK. They also have the academic competence which enables them to give lectures at state and private universities.

Access to Further Studies
First of all our students have to pass 1 Intermediate 1 Final Exam with success in all courses. The students, who completed the courses with success, have to get a general academic grade-point average of 70 (2,5) as well The graduate students, who completed the program of the Capital Market and Stock Exchange Department with success, can apply to the doctorate programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students have to pass the mid term exam and final exam for all courses. Lecturers may ask students to prepare coursework and make quizzes. The midterm exam is 40 percent and the final exam is 60 percent.
Graduation Requirements
To complete the courses with 30 ECTS* (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System*) To pass the courses with success. To have an average of 2,5 in the courses of the postgraduate. To be successful with the postgraduate’s thesis. To bind thesis in the institute’s, central library of Marmara University’s and Council of Higher Education’s desired conditions, to record into a CD and submit the requested documents to institute for checkout.
